Hi, folks!

Just noticed some interesting things in footage of Rotterdam gig on January 29, 1979.

At first, look at this bit from 0:51 to 0:53 here on pro-shot footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qSEA1Nm-AU and then compare it to this bit of amateur footage from 0:28 to 0:31 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj_gG9qJ7mM

This bit on amateur footage is the same as what is seen in pro-shot footage and while amateur footage is from We Will Rock You (fast) at that moment it means that the bit of WWRY (fast) is woven into pro-shot footage of two songs.

Also, bits of the the first night footage along with that WWRY (fast) bit appear in that 1979 TV report in the end here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNbmt_HbgGo&feature=channel_video_title

In my opinion that footage here in the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNbmt_HbgGo&feature=channel_video_title is mostly from the second night Rotterdam on January 30 as Freddie's completely seen without sunglasses on amateur footage from the first night but he's seen with sunglasses in that footage. The same goes for the pics of both nights. On the pics from the first night he's seen without sunglasses at the beginning of the concert and in the pics from the second night he's seen in sunglasses at the beginning of the concert.

Bob, what do you think?

The "Jewels" footage includes parts of We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You fast, Tie Your Mother Down, Bicycle Race and I'm In Love With My Car. SirGH thought it includes also a few seconds of You're My Best Friend, but I'm not sure about it.

The other documentary includes parts of We WIll Rock You fast and Let Me Entertain You. We had a nice debate some time ago about the date of this second source.

The audience video comes from the same night as the audience audio recording which is distributed as the first night.
The Jewels video comes from the same night.
The old documentary - we're not sure. It COULD be from the second night, but also it can be that Freddie simply didn't start with his sunglasses on, later came back with them, and again got them away

Those women singing (screaming?) along with I'm In Love With My Car never gets old. Top footage.

I'm 100% certain there is footage of Roger playing and singing You're My Best Friend in there.

This seems to be the case.  I can't think of any other explanation, as everything else in both pieces of footage points to the first night.

Great work, Lostman.

I'm also sure there are the bits from You're My Best Friend as it's seen by the that way how Roger plays it.

Thanks, Bob but what do you mean with "great work"? I've done nothing :-)

You're doing plenty of good detective work.  The fact that you noticed a parallel between the 8mm footage and the TV footage is pretty spectacular, I'd say..

I would think the sunglasses material would have to be a different night as the 8mm footage contains the first 4 songs:  opening verse of WWRY, several clips of Let Me Entertain You, Somebody to Love (cap is removed), If You Can't Beat 'em (jacket removed).
