Thank you very much, Nino! This is awesome story! I wish I'd been born somewhere in the 60's and so I could take tickets to the countries where Queen performed and saw them live, but unfortunately, I was born too late (in 1996).

I've heard that the audience recording from that Providence gig exists in excellent quality, I think it's worth listening to this one!

LOL Bob,  you sly old pedant you - I meant 1/3/79, where the available footage comes from.  Just love the performance and it's nice that the aforementioned songs were part of the setlist.

But there was the third night on March 1, not the first. =============================================================================================

LOL, I know - that's me admitting to Bob I made a wee boo-boo with my original post.  'twas late at night when I posted it haha

Yes, there is a recording of that Providence gig and I have a photo of the tape and tried to contact the people that currently have it, thanks to Bob, but they never got back to me. So it apparently does exist. And you don't want to have been born back then Lostman... you'd be old like me now. 45 and counting!

Can you please send me a pic of that tape? Or just contact me? I've sent you a PM with my e-mail address.

For me it has to be the impromptu gig they played after the shooting of the we are the champions video. We wasn' t expecting anything then bob harris announced they were going to come back for us to give us a little show for helping them out. FANTASTIC.

For me the best gigs I saw were those of the Crazy Tour of 1979 with Alexander Palace being the stand out by far - if only the band would release more of the footage.

What I would really love to hear is one of the really early college gigs - unbelievably a friend of mine saw them way before they became a recording band and he isn't even a fan of the band - kinda sucks really and I am not even slightly green with envy - honest
But now you can kiss my ass goodbye
