Hofner ignition series

G'day
I was wanting to buy a Hofner 'Violin Bass' but can not  afford the true models.
Was looking at the ignition series which are built in Indonesia but to Hofner specifications.
Wondering if anyone has played one and if they give you the sound and feel of the true model.

Haven't played the Ignition.  My nephew has an Icon B which I've used on a few recordings.  I've had no issues with the sound itself, although changing the intonation on a Hofner guitar isn't very much fun.  In any case, they're very playable - lovely and light.  People who complain about the sound just aren't using it right.
