Hangman acetate or John S Stuart or deceives us

I'm still pissing myself over that Assassin / Power Of Love spoof from a few years ago. I hope the person that did that does a few more.

I love trolls like this one; posting in English (and apologies here to all the good QZ'ers who don't have English as their first language but do an incredibly admirable job of making themselves understood) and making themselves even more unintelligible than their poorly reasoned arguments.

Unless, of course, this is someone *pretending* to have poor command of English and a poorly reasoned argument........?

Hangman exists in the format John says it does, simply because he is a trusted and respected source / collector of long-standing; there is no reason for him to make the story up as he does not stand to benefit from doing so in any manner.  Those who believe otherwise are clearly those who would be of the mind to do such a thing themselves had they the thought of it first themselves.  Personally, I'm glad John does have it and that its safely in his care.   Clearly, had it been in the band's or QPL's care, we would still not have heard the results given the paucity of the bonus tracks compiled on the new re-issue of "Queen".

John has served the QZ community with alacrity in all the time I have had any association with this forum and at cost to himself in terms of time and money without any thought of reward - we all thank you for your time and effort over the years John and hope that this does not put you off from making any future gifts and contributions should you choose to do so.

I predict that in the coming years QZ-goers will make it their personal goal to make sure that everyone gets the acetate except our pesky little friend. Think I'll give my copy of the Silver Polar Bear Assasin acetate another spin.....

Meh.  Far as I'm concerned, the thing is safe where it is.  Do I think he should hand it over so everyone can hear it?  For sure - it's not even his song, people want to hear it, and the official channels are too lazy/fucking stupid to make any kind of move on getting unheard stuff like this out the door.

However, it's just not that big a deal - and if it is safe where it is, and it is being looked after, then what's the fuss?  People also forget that Hangman's a shitty song anyway.  There's a long list of things I would rather hear.

Legally, it might be okay that he has the acetate, but morally I still don't think it's cool - regardless of whatever 'finders keepers' justifications one might have, working materials like these were not meant to be in ordinary folks' hands.  The only reason that I find it acceptable in this instance is that QPL is a totally ineffectual, useless entity that would be willing to let stuff like Hangman gather dust for eternity.  The day that they make a decision to start selling me what I'm willing to pay for, is when maybe I'll feel a bit different.
