I have been PRAYING that the originial Beautiful Day demo would surface one day. Is this list genuine? If the 1980 take does turn up, maybe we'll stuff like the '84 demos of Let Me Live and Let Me In (Your Heart Again) on The Works, but judging by the sub-par material and sometimes downright atrocious leftovers on this predicted batch, I highly doubt it.

Indeed, it's official - http://www.queenonline.com/en/news-archive/second-five-albums-tracklisting

I'm most excited about "Jazz". Looking forward to a clean single version of "Fat Bottomed Girls" and an acoustic take of "Dreamer's Ball"? Delicious!

The only thing that irks me about these kind of releases is when they add "out of era" live tracks, for example how they've just added tracks from Milton Keynes 1982 to Jazz and the Game, especially when anyone who bought the On Fire at the Bowl CD already has these anyway. At least in some cases they've used not-officially released on CD versions, so at least there's something for collectors.
There's still some stuff here to look forward to like "Feelings, Feelings" and the original "It's a Beautiful Day", as I mostly like the studio rarities that come with remasters.

I also hope they include some of the 12" singles on The Works remastered, particulalry The Headbangers Mix of Hammer To Fall which is superb. You can bet they'll put I Go Crazy on there too.

I think it's worth asking, as I have done myself - if all these bonus tracks so far were compiled onto an anthology type release would it be a satisfying collection? I think yes very much so - BBC, live, demo, alternate takes, unreleased songs, remixes etc. It's a very nice collection. However I think spread over the respective albums it looks a bit thin. I only got the debut album last time, this time I think I'll get Flash and Jazz.

I wish these would f*cking hurry up.

I suppose there won't be a box or something special for those who have already the Queen40 Box ? Cuz I don't know if I can pre-order now or if I should wait a bit more..

My copy of 'Jazz' arrived early today and I've just had time to listen to a bit of the bonus EP:
Fat Bottomed Girsl single mix: What a wasted of space. Won't bother listening to it, grew up with it on Greatest Hits.
Bicycle Race (instrumental): Nice to hear. No vocals at all (lead or backing). However the booklet promises that we will hear things that we didn't now were present in the original mix without the vocals in the way. Nope - everything there I've heard when listening to the 'normal' mix (and the 5.1 mix), so nothing unexpected. Greg and Gary must be imagining things or originally learnt these songs on crap hifi systems!
Don't Stop Me Now (with guitars): Interesting to see what was originally planned. Surprisingly there's nothing inventive in the guitar parts, and they just for the most part plod along in the background with the chord changes. They do interact nicely in a couple of places with the piano but I can see why they finally decided against them as removing them 'cleans' up the mix. An alternative take of the solo is there whch starts the same but then alters 2/3rds of the way through. It's not as melodic or memorable as the 'original' when it changes and so justifiably didn't make the final mix. Overall this sounds like I would expect a BBC Session of this track to roughly sound like if they'd done one - the album mix with some 'live' guitars on.
haven't got to the rest yet (looking forward to Dreamer's Ball!!)

Super, thanks. I think I agree about FBG, but it's good to collect up the edits too - just a shame if it was at the expense of something else, and a shame that wasn't one of the 'rules' on the previous release.
I wondered if the Dreamers Ball take is the regular cut but with the electric guitars removed? The 30 sample we had seems to have a different vcoal take.

In the short trip home I checked out Dreamer's Ball.
A real treat- a completely different take to the final mix. All acoustic guitars and Roger playing with brushes. I won't swear on it but it may be that there's no bass guitar, so possibly John may also be playing acoustic guitar, or not present at all? (afraid my car speakers are a bit shite!)
The lyrics are almost the same as the final version although Freddie swaps them around in a couple of places. The melodies and structure (verses, choruses, breaks etc.. all in the same places). This is what we want to hear!!!
The sleeve notes say that the bass drum for 'Jealousy' has been restored (by Josh McCrae) having bizarrely never been present in all prevous versions of Jazz! It really does sound great, and I really like the accented beats Roger plays - HOWEVER I think they've missed one beat at about 1 min 58 seconds - now, it COULD be that Roger didn't play that single beat at that part even though he plays it on all other comporable parts on the song, but I don't think so!
Once you've had a listen, let me know!!!

Wow, you received your copy early. Thanks for posting your opinion. I heard Jazz sounds great now, at least, much better than before!
