I've looked for Queen song easter eggs for years but my local grocer has always told me that they don't exist.

on a totally unrelated point, What is said in March Of The Black Queen; after Fred sings "She never dots her I's"? It's around the 5.30 mark.
Don't shun it!

Most fans will know about the Janis Joplin-esque backing vocals on the banned version of Let Me Live. Queen say they got rid of all of those after Joplin's estate kicked up a fuss. Listen carefully on 4:17-4:19. It's kind of hard to hear on PC speakers but if you have a stereo which has a time counter, play the track on CD, crank up the volume, and fast forward to that point. You can very dinstinctly hear 'take another piece of my heart, now baby.' It looks like they didn't remove all the Joplin-esque vocals...!

===================

Another peice of my heart now Ba-BY.

I can honestly say i've never noticed that before. for those that want to hear it's right before the last "oh yeah yeah" but after rogers "let me liiiiiiive". They must have turned just the volume slider down to get ride of those lines.

This rumor is a little off, I think. Janis Joplin's Estate would have no issue with the backing vocals for the following reasons:

The song, "Piece Of My Heart," was written by Jerry Ragovoy & Bert Berns, not Joplin. It was first recorded by Erma Franklin, sister of Aretha, in 1967. Berns died that year, but Ragovoy is still very much alive. They own the copyright.

Janis herself never recorded the single, she was the lead singer of the band Big Brother And The Holding Company, which is the version of the song everyone associates with her. This version is epic, to be sure, but it is cover. The sound recording for the BB & THC version is owned either them or their record company (it's one or the other) and that recording is protected, but not the lyrics and not the delivery. You can't copyright *how* you sing a song, just your recording of it (and if you release it, you need to pay the copyright holder and get permission). You can make an identical cover (or a completely different cover) of a song as long as you handle the copyright legally.

The royalties of the song, by anyone, go to Berns (Estate) & Ragovoy, not Joplin and not BB&THC.

As far as copyrighting the individual lyric "Take another little piece of my heart," given how similar-sounding many lyrics to many songs are  (for example: Roger singing, "When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are" which is a direct reference to the Disney song), I can't see that being an issue.

If Queen actually believed there was an issue, someone ought to have done their homework. Personally, I don't think they had anything to worry about.

Rock in Rio '85 - Freddie forgot a line from "It's a Hard Life" and was just humming la-la-la... I like it!

The little *beep at the beginning of  "Drowse". Nice song, by the way - great lyrics : )

I have asked the same thing before.. apparently its 'she's our leader' which sounds right and is in context.

In Now I'm Here it seems Freddie gets his timing wrong singing 'think I'll stay around', it goes..

'Think I'll stay around... around... aroundaround... around...'

I noticed something in "Another one bites the dust" a couple of days ago.

At around 0:37 (right after "the bullets rip") there's a grunt that is not easily heard in the mix, but is very clear when you listen to the vocals alone (in the file attached, it's at 0:42).

I heard another one tonight, dont know how I've not heard it before coz its clear as day. In 'You and I' exactly on the 2 minute mark there is a sound in the background, like a 'shimmer' sound if that makes sense!? (I thought my mobile phone had received a text when I first heard it)

Give it a listen, clearer through headphones.
