Slightly Mad is a great example because a lot of that was Freddie's input. DoRo were just there to point the camera at him; probably while tugging each other off over the big fat paycheck they'd just received.

[snip excessive kneejerk DoRo hate to save sanity.]
All I gots to say, is without the band's chemistry with other and certain people's charisma (snicker-chortle; cos god knows & we know they can't act or lip-sync to save their lives), a lot of these videos...Ugh. See the major solo vids, FM tribute and ROTC are done by Mallet: when they want it classy they fork out the dough. This is a band with inherently big, rare dramatic arc to their story. Point the camera in the last days and the fanbase goes into auto-weep mode.
Then imagine the same thing getting a Johnny Cash "Hurt" treatment, or young David Fincher's sleek story of innuendos for MJ's "Who is it". The point is DoRo don't seem intuitive about the songs they're hired to do (I reckon Winter's Tale by film student was too abstract, at least it was sensitive to the song unlike DoRo again riding the charming dead corpse of "surviving shards of great man":PP) They just pad out the runtime, when they "should" be giving the songs an extra layer of meaning. Don't even start in the random nude MILF in Queen Rocks compil (T&A sells hot young studs in '78, not on their way to great dead legends status - do you sell Jimi Hendrix with T&A?) Sucky visual branding is why they never got a foothold or consistent media presence in the US (mea culpa!)
Back to OP: The Miracle is probably "best". They're good with kids, or something.

Rare Live is utter garbage. What were they thinking?

Magic Years and Rare Live were the first time I (and I sure very very many others) saw all that footage. What a great time to be a Queen fan. Yes, the concept of Rare Live is better than the finished product, but I will always love it for the first place I saw the Hammersmith RNR medley (the edit IS superior to the full thing). DORO also worked with David Bowie and delivered a great live video in 1991. I think they just suffer from having aged badly. I think they are ok.

My favourite videos by DoRo are probably Rare Live and Magic Years. These ones are really great to see. They contain good concert material, good footages of the band and lots of other good stuff.
