The Flash Gordon extra tracks sound very promising! I also expected a stripped down version of Football Fight but this appears to be a whole different take incl piano. Great! I also hope the booklet will tell us which take we get of Feelings Feelings.

Take 10, it's stated so in the press release.

Is it me or is the live version of Calling All Girls a different mix from the one on the Live at the Bowl DVD?

It's hard to tell because the samples are in mono. We'll have to wait and see.
I hope they didn't change a thing, as the version from the DVD menu is absolutely perfect.

Once you actually have the tracks out in front of you to check out, you realize how utterly lame -- overall -- these deluxe editions are. I am, of course, VERY happy and excited to have the true rarities here, like Feelings, Feelings, DSMN, Dreamer's Ball, The Kiss, Football Fight, Sail Away Sweet Sister, Beautiful Day..but that's just seven tracks on five CD's! I mean, seriously, how could they not include the COMPLETE NOTW BBC Sessions.. It's mind boggingly inane. It makes absolutely NO SENSE! I just don't get it.
It's so aggravating...and the inclusion of live tracks already released, more than once in some cases, is utterly stupid and shameful...and advertised as 'rare bonus tracks'??? Come on!!!
I guess I shouldn't complain and just be happy that we've gotten the above mentioned true rartities, the few pieces on the first set of releases and -good lord- the De Lane Lea demos complete..can you imagine if they only put on 1/2 of those..?
Still, these deluxe editions could have been and SHOULD have been much, much better....so sad...

'Sail Away Sweet Sister' and 'Dreamer's Ball' sound class, IABD sounds like it's missing something, which was obviously found on MIH.

Of course they could have been much better, but we now probably have the definitive Jazz album, in terms of sound quality. In fact, all albums have been improved a lot.
Also, A Beautiful Day is really a demo. A lovely demo. John did a great job in making it a complete track. It has to be said.

Amazing stuff if you ask me - Brian mumbling the words to SASS, the Flash tracks are fantastic - It's A Beautiful Day will always sound like a shit 90's song so kind of ruins The Game for me. All in all - well pleased.

I always thought that "Hot Space" could benefit from additional remastering; a bit more of everything basically. So I'm indeed currious how this edition will turn out. Obviously they will be using compression to make it sound 'up to date' and, well, to make it sound like they've actually done something -- which, in most cases, I seriously regret, but for "Hot Space", it could actually result in something surprisingly nice...

Feelings, Feelings sounds like an alternate take.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, I should have stated, too, that the albums sound terrific..the remastering is great. But, still, when you think of some of those true deluxe editions put out by artists like Elton John, where you get a second disc with anywhere from thirteen to Twenty rarities, it sort of makes you imagine what could have been.

I agree. Maybe QP has more surprises in store for us.

I got my first five accidental imports in their nice Queen box late last week. I am currently losing the battle with my wiser self to resist buying the rest as overpriced imports so they "match" and so my nice Queen box doesn't have unsightly gaps. Sigh. My original plan had been to buy the domestic releases up to The Game. Nutty how a 35 cent cardboard box can make me think this way.

Now I am wondering, why the It's a Beautiful Day on MIH has that "fresh" sound - especially the piano and the demo lacks it... they've left it that way... I mean the demos are cleaned up a bit(not altered but "remastered") ?

Some reasonably good stuff here...mixed with not so good. Feelings feelings...brilliant...... Don't stop me now (guitars)....sounds heavier...brilliant Beautiful day...excellent I never liked : Sweet sister or dreamers ball much though. The live stuff is good, but better to release the whole gig....not snippets Overall I will buy it...for the collection....so thanks....but I am itching for some better live stuff in its entirety

I can't help feeling the instrumental and a capella versions are harbingers of remix/HD/DTS/whatever releases to come.
