I'm trying to pin point when the who thing fell apart.
Some events to make a time line:
During the German part of the TCR tour, Roger said this might be the last time they tour (to which Brian replies "really?") In a US radio interview from mid october 2008, Brian says they just played Barcelona. Everything sounds like it's ok. When asked about a US tour he says there might be, "but probably not in the spring, maybe later" South America : every interview footage shows Brian looking really depressed. On his soapbox he posts a picture and says "the very end of a long journey") 3.12.2008: Brian writes the following on his website: Well, I don't know where anyone got that idea - Roger and Paul and myself haven't made any decisions whatsoever about the future ... We just need a rest ! Spring 2009; Paul says Queen is over and that they might do a one off some time
So; when do you think they pulled the plug? And what caused it?

I believe that they decided in South America not to continue with the project. However I also know that during the European dates they had Jeff Scott Soto on standby. Read into that what you will

I know there were rumours of a bust up between Brian and Paul Rodgers but since no one has opened up about that I guess we'll never know. Very poor sales of The Cosmos Rocks probably was an influence. I think Rodgers was selling more as a solo artist than with Queen+. And Brian tends to equate sales with artistic success. So I think it just ran out of steam.

I thought it was a shame the PR thing fell apart, cause I loved the 2 dvds they released and the album. A few fans didn't like his rough image and didn't feel it suited them. I thought he was great, but I'm a PR FAN

I still think the tours would've worked better with a different lineup:
PUPPET SHOW
Paul Rodgers + Queen
Freeform jazz improv.
Tortured to death
Kiss.

I have a question about the QPR shows -- did they show a moving image of Freddie on the back screens like they did in the 2012 QAL shows for certain songs like BoRhap and Love Of My Life?

For song(s) WITH a Freddie vocal, just "Bohemian Rhapsody" (all Q+PR tours) and "Bijou" (2008 Q+PR tour). They also have the montage video during "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" (2005/06 tours)

Thanks, inu! So it's pretty likely that they will do that again during the Q+AL tour! I don't think there could be a "Queen" tour without Freddie in there somewhere!

Did they? That would be news to me. I spoke to Jeff about Queen on several occasions but he never mentioned that.
