I've read that the song was originally about cowboys, but John tweaked the lyrics so that cowboy motif was eventually lost. i'm sure some of the Queen super gurus here could provide a more authoritative source.
"and maybe next time we WILL bring back an orchestra"

He mentioned the cowboy theme being 'rather silly' and changed it before the group got to hear/see the lyrics.

I guarantee I'm older then your self :-), kid!

Being older (or younger) doesn't guarantee anything in this case.

A piano is a keyboard, full stop.

There are no reversed hi-hats on that song. There are reversed keyboards (piano + synth) though.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Regardless, Queenpedia only says there is piano, no synths, or keyboards.

Once again, nice try Sebash! Might want to stop while you're, err.. behind!

At what points of the song is the reverse piano?
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!

Piano IS a keyboard instrument, so if it's got piano that counts as having keyboards. Queenpedia says that there are no synths because I sent them that info. And I was wrong: there's synth doubling the piano. Same for Bechstein Debauchery. And I'm Sebastian, by the way, not Sebash: are you retarded or can't you simply write correctly?

BTW, Liam:

0.14 - 0.23: Reversed synth.

0.35 - 0.39: Cymbal being hit, with loads of flanging added. then they  reversed it, so you get the flange+echo first and cymbal hit last, all  fading in. But it's not a hi-hat BTW.

1.02 - 1.07: Piano and synth doing the power chord together, again reversed.

1.16 - 1.25: Synth (similar to 0.14-0.23), maybe even copied and pasted, plus splash cymbals. All of that, of course, reversed.

1.53 - 1.57: Low noise produced from either guitar or piano low frequencies  being amplified. It could also simply be feedback from an amp.

1.58 - 2.00: Motorcycle noise from guitar, with loads of echo at the end  (similar to the ending of Princes of the Universe with vocals). This one is NOT reversed.

2.02 - 2.08: Electronic drums (check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIE7Tfc3_Lc).

2.09 - 2.17: Synth + piano power chord, then reversed.

2.17 - 2.19: This one I don't know how to generate, but it's definitely not a synth (OB-x's do not sound like that). Most likely, it's an e-drum  preset which Mack put into strange echoes and/or resampled.

2.33 - 2.42: Reversed synth.

Check out http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GHJ4LI3J for the isolated effect track.

99% of what Queenpedia says is spot on. But there's still a 1% of mistakes (some of which are my fault as I've sent them myself, including the one about Dust not having synths). If you listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah7ctuXZzkM you can realise the warbling reversed sound on 0.14-0.23, 1.02-1.07, 1.16-1.25, 1.53-1.57,  2.09-2.17 and 2.33-2.42 IS an OB-x, not a guitar. The low frequencies  are identical. Guitar with pedals and EQ still sound differently.

How old are you two anyway?

Calling someone retarded when you're obviously wrong sure shows maturity!

Lighten up Sebash, ever heard of a nickname? Where most of us live - it's a free country. I can call you Sebash, I could call you anything I desire.

I'm sorry you got your own information wrong, but if that leads you to calling some one a retard, perhaps you should get out more.

It's an internet message board. relax.

You want to believe he's wrong? Fine, just keep doing that. You're the only one. Just don't come claiming freedom of internet speech by giving him an insulting nickname, then turn into a crybaby when he asks if you're a retard. That's quite a double standard for someone as old and wise as yourself.

I understand you want to stick up for your friend, but if you want your
post to be valid, please don't put words in someones mouth... Or please
direct me to where I claimed to be wise. Thank you.

If you think that Sebash is an insult, then I feel immensely sorry for
your self when you go into the real world. I promise it's much harsher
than 'Sebash'. And if you must know, an old friend of mine was named
Sebastian, and a nickname, I presume given to him by other friends -
before I met him, was, Sebash.

Andif you're going to call me a cry baby, then I can say you're being a cry baby about me being a cry baby - see how this works?

I didn't say you're retarded, I asked if you were. As you obviously didn't tell the difference between a question and a statement, I shall ask again: are you retarded?

And yes: I was wrong back when I thought AOBTD had no synths. Just like you are wrong when you claim it's got no keyboards (it's got, two: piano and synth, both of which are keyboard instruments).

That's not at all related with age or going out, it's as simple as: can you open your mind? Or is your response to being proven wrong crying like a baby, defending on age, social life or any other unrelated/irrelevant argumentum ad hominem?

The bassline is pretty similar to:

Sugerhill Gang - "Rappers Delight"

I think this is "the first" rap song, if you don't count the old Bob Dylan song.

Share your theory then. Do a thorough analysis of the song and we'll rate it afterwards.
