Imagine a line-up of a band which had dead musicians only. What would be your line for 'the Band for Heaven'?
Here's my ideal line-up: Freddie Mercury - lead vocals, piano Karen Carpenter - backing vocals, drums Jimi Hendrix - guitar Bernard Edwards - bass
Not a lot of people know, but all Carpenters songs from '69-'74 have Karen drumming like there's no tomorrow! Here's a link to one of her many fab drum solos which would probably put Roger to shame - and I'm saying that as a completely honest and loyal Queen fan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdHyzGXAJPg&feature=related 1:32 to 5:20 - nearly four minutes of lovely Karen emblishing her true passion!

Didn't you mean to write "If there was a band in Hell..."??? Surely a band in heaven would contain Christian artists.

There's your ultimate band of the deceased... although I don't think they'd mesh too well together !

According to this other thread, all the decent musicians are in hell, so I doubt there's a decent band in heaven http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1276979/terrible-page-about-the-tragic-life-of-freddie-mercury.aspx

To all the folk who have listed 30 odd band members - why does the band need so many guitarists and vocalists?? :)))

Agreed...just minus John Lennon. JL is a fantastic musician, but I just don't see him being in this fold...
