What One Song Mars An Otherwise Perfect Album

Well, I've said it before, but Mr Taylor should be deeply ashamed of forcing The Loser In The End onto an otherwise perfect album.  And the others should be ashamed for letting him!  It would have been a crap B-side at best.

Have to agree with the people who chose Sweet Lady for ANATO.  While it doesn't exactly make me rush to switch it off (it goes in one ear and out the other), I always felt it was Queen's first "ordinary" song.  Sadly, there were many more to follow.

News Of The World - track 3 onwards.  Especially Spread Your Wings, possibly my least favourite song of all time.  Well, the 70s anyway ...

Queen - Jesus, Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll, Seven Seas of Rhye
Queen II - Loser in the End
A Day at the Races - White Man
News of the World - Get Down, Make Love, My Melancholy Blues
Jazz - Mustapha
The Game - Don't Try Suicide, Coming Soon (replace with A Human Body)

Hot Space - Pretty Much Everything (Make an EP out of Put Out the Fire, Las Parables de Amour, Under Pressure, and Calling All Girls

After The Game, Queen pretty much went downhill, in my opinion, and every subsequent album was patchy, so there's no reason to vote for which songs to remove.

It's amazing reading through this thread how people's taste in music vary.

For me, my list would be:-

Queen - Jesus
Queen 2 - Nothing
Sheer Heart Attack - Bring Back That Leroy Brown
A Night At The Opera - Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon/Seaside Rendevous/Good Company (it's a toss up here)
A Day At The Races - Nothing (I view this as the perfect Queen album)
News Of The World - Nothing (but Who Needs You is borderline)
Jazz - Mustapha (Love the heavy section...but seriously...??)
The Game - Don't Try Suicide
Flash - Nothing (It works as a soundtrack I think)
Hot Space - Cool Cat
The Works - hmmm...hard to choose one here as they all fit into the theme.
Kind Of Magic - Pain Is So Close To Pleasure
The Miracle - The Invisible Man (uuugh)
Innuendo - All God's People & Delilah!  Man, how to kill an album with those two!
Made In Heaven - I Was Born To Love You (I much prefer Freddie's version...this one just sounds silly)

I'm surprised no-one's suggested songs that mar Mr. Bad Guy, Fun in Space and the like. What are people's opinions on members' solo material? In that vein it would have to be this for me:

Mr. Bad Guy - hmm... love Freddie's solo stuff mostly, but half of this album is great and half of it is dirge. The dirge consisting of Foolin' Around (*vomit*), Mr. Bad Guy (prefer the 1992 remix), TMBMtLTT (Freddie never really wrote ballads well), My Love is Dangerous (*vomits again*... I hate reggae) and LMLTNT (I guess I never really listened it)

Another World - it's a classic album and Brian kicks true rocker's ass on it, it has to be said, but there are a few splotches: Why Don't We Try Again (Brian did great with ballads, but this has to be his solo version of Save Me... it's really not good), Cyborg (the mix of rock and electronica came out wrong... interesting experiment and I would love it if done right, but it failed), Wilderness (never really listened to it), Slow Down (half-assed rocker that ends up as sludge) and All The Way From Memphis (ditto as Wilderness).

I agree, how much everyone's opinion is so different...i think Mustapha rules, the whole songs kicks ass.....The 3 songs on A night At The opera you posted are what makes Queen amazing.   Seaside Rendevous/lazing on a sunday afternoon and Good company are "the vintage Queen Sound".  Bring Back that Leroy Brown=pure Brilliance.  Not sure how a person could be a Queen fan and not like those songs,  it's like the guy who keeps saying how he hates the prophet song......for each their own I guess....

Wow.....still being kind of a new fan, I'm shocked at some of the choices, which also happen to be some of my favorites! I LOVE Hammer To Fall, All God's Children, Rain Must Fall, Coming Soon, Don't Try Suicide, Delilah, Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, Dead On Time, You And I, Man On The Prowl, Sheer Heart Attack, and a bunch more that I saw on people's lists.
Although I love them all, my least favorite are the ones sung by Roger: Fun It, Loser In The End, Drowse, I'm In Love With My Car, (to the person who was surprised that a girl did not like this one, I have news for you: None of us girls like it! LOL ) Sorry, Roger.....I Love you! You're the greatest back up singer ever, but as far as lead goes, not so much.
Then of course, there's the obligatory ones like Body Language, The Party (never got that one!), Jesus, & White Man.
For all the rest, I think Queen is absolutely Perfect!!! Even with these few, they are the epitome of perfection!
There have to be a few songs that don't appeal to everyone......After all, they ARE human......Aren't they?? Ha Ha!
Queen - inhumanly magnificent!!!!!

You got a couple of the song names wrong there, but other than that, WHAT A POST :)

I didn't mean to post this twice...
I mean to just edit it - but I've not worked out how to delete a post yet - so ... oh, my other post is fine ....

I think I'm a banana tree. Oh dear.

Good to know I'm not the only Delilah-lover/I'm In Love With My Car-hater :) I don't like Roger as a lead singer, either.

Sheer Heart Attack on Livekillers is just noise. If that's the best recording(s) they had of that song, I'd hate to hear the worst.
"Queen is the only band in the world that can play so heavily that your nose bleeds, then offer a silk handkerchief to clean up with."
