Hello everybody:

I was looking at the 2nd video of  "We are the champions" and some behind the camera scenes, and started to wonder...

Does anybody knows if the show that Queen played for the fans that night is filmed? I know that there's a an audio of it, but it will be nice to see a video too, right?

Thanks everybody!!

Salutes.

We can't be so sure about that this wasn't filmed. It could be filmed and now it's gathering dust in the archives, but they're hiding it from us.

Or maybe an audience shot (8 mm) of the show exist and is in hands of the recorder... who knows?
Frankly i don`t belive a pro-shot of these show exists in the archive if Gary said that no footage of the gig exists, cause i think they revised the archive very well for their Documentary.
Don`t forget record footage in film (35 mm) or even in 16 mm was very expensive in these ages.

I'm not heavily into documentaries and, apart from TATDOOL on BBC last month, it's been years since I last bothered (so I often get forgetful about what I have seen and from which sources) - however, is there not some clips of the "Champions" shoot on one of the UK docs?  I'm sure I have seen footage of Freddie at this with the crowd singing along - was this just for the recording of the promo, or was it from the after-shoot gig?

That's strange, so they simply packed their cameras after they filmed all mimed performances ? Quite illogical, especially when you consider how much material did Bob Harris' crew film in 1977 for the documentary, which was never finished.

But it can be possible since they didn't film the end of the Hammersmith Odeon 75 show  :-(

is not so illogical when you consider the expensive cost of the tapes... but the Bob Harris documentary is a good point... maybe the gig is in the bob`s personal archive, Who knows?

Sorry! i think was my issue, i mean:
If aparently they don´t found the gig in the archives at the time when they were making the TATDOL documentary MAYBE the gig doesn´t exists in the archives... but now i think it´s only a (stupid) suposition of my part...
i wish that the band (and specially certain producers, archivist, etc) had at least a little more of  "feedback" with us (specially when they don`t release almost nothing intresting in years)

The full Bob Harris documentary simply begs for a release. The American NOTW tour was a great one and ground-breaking as well.

So, maybe there is after all a video of that special concert! And that will be awsome (that is if we get to see it).

Exactly. Even if they have it in their archives, they won't release it. It's such a pity.
