yes im the same guy we were kicked out just before the end of vintage trouble set at 8pm, i had yellow freddie jacket on and was front row left hand side, and we were told that it was against concert hall policy to get up and dance, which is bullshit as i had just seen zappa plays zappa there and people were dancing etc, also brian may has played there before and no problem, it was just asshole security trying to thrown there weight about, thats why i got email from brian saying it was out of order for me being ejected as his policy is to dance wheither in front row or back row, AND also the lead singer from vintage trouble (ty taylor) just asked me to calm down as he didnt want me kicked out, he has explained this to me on my facebook page, thats why we are all meeting up with him in august in glasgow at there gig, so hopefully there will be dancing lol

thistle boy...........all the manhandling happened once we were out the doors in the foye, thats where all this kicked off, my girfriend was in tears, and my friend who is bald just went to the toilet came back and we were all outside, granted he had a drink so did the other guy with the grey hair, but the security were a joke and the security have been reported as my gf dad was there as well and he is a copper, once they found that out they shit it, and let me back in, only for they guy with grey hair to start dancing again, which resulted in all of us getting ask to leave, then there was the bother outside the arena.

Sorry mate, I was upstairs with my mrs, I wish I had been lucky enough to have been down where you were lol :)  And wish I had filmed lol

If they manhandled you outside, then that's absolutely appalling, and I hope you whip their arse (assuming you have complaints going in?).  If it was me, I'd be suing the arse off them.  Now, to be fair, that night I just thought you were being a pain in the arse - maybe unfairly treated at first but then deserving to be told to leave - but now I see this and I believe your story, I'm sorry.  Kick ass mate, and I hope you enjoy your evening with VT!

Just thought to add my bit for your consideration. Of course this has nothing to do with your case, but I want to state my opinions on concert etiquette, or in some cases, lack of it. Apologies in advance for the rant.

First of all, the security people are there for a reason, and more often than not, they've been paid to do their work as they're told to. I know this, because I'm a performing musician, and in some cases, we've had to call the security to keep some sense of peace in the front row area. Festivals and concert halls are of course easily handled, but in smaller, crowded clubs, we've had to call a couple of bouncers to secure the front row, because when people get properly drunk, there's been some serious harrassing of the female lead, my stage piano has almost fallen off the stage a couple of times (which is heavy) because some drunk idiot wanted to climb on stage but didn't notice the piano wasn't bolted to the floor, and some beer has been knocked over our guitarist's pedals. Now, I LOVE when people are having fun, makes me more energetic on stage. But when having fun crosses the line to being stupid, that's usually when the security gets called in. In your case, the security didn't know of the situation, but I suspect they were probably informed some people were acting disturbingly. (Oh yeah, almost forgot, the mixing desk has had a couple of beers dropped on, which is always fun when you don't have a spare. Sometimes, when people are drunk enough, they don't really understand that these things cost a lot of money. At that point, I don't really care if they have a disorder or what - you break it, you pay for it.)

Which brings to my other point, being in the audience. I'm not a big fan of actually being in a crowd, so I choose very carefully if I want to see some band or not. When I do, if I get the chance, I'll stay by the vicinity of the mixing desk, because the sound is always the best around there, and if the mixer guy can see enough from there, so can I. But I rarely go to see any band more than once, because I really don't like that many bands that much to actually want to see them at all - much less more than once - and they rarely come around to my part of the world, so if I want to see some band really badly, it'll cost a couple of fortunes. So, for some people, going to a concert of some big group can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience; not because they can't, but because they want to get their money's worth, and hope that there won't be some very vocal people in the audience to don't ruin their night.

So, long story short, if there are rules set for venues, they are there most likely for a reason. Rant over for now.

While on the topic of concert crowds & behavior, here's a few
mishaps/incidents from Queen's early days of just becoming popular
(taken from my Classic Queen book by Mick Rock):

1974:
16 March, University, Stirling
After a full show and three encores the audience is still not happy to let the band leave. A riot escalates and two people
are stabbed. The next night's show is rescheduled until 2 April.

1 November, Liverpool Empire
Fans rush the stage during the "Procession" tape and order has to be restored by the theatre manager.

2 November, University, Leeds
Fans again rush the stage.

8 November, Apollo Theatre, Glasgow
Ten rows of seats are damaged when fans storm the stage and Freddie is dragged into the throng!

Needless to say, Queen fans are enthusiastic!  How's that for etiquette?
