Obivously Freddie has been cast but I was thinking about Brian. Would would people think about Russel Brand as Brian? I don' know how people in the UK feel about him but he is tall and lanky and has some similar features.

Hahahahahahahahahaha are you serious? :P
Id never have even considered him, but now that you've said it, I can see where you're going with it.
He would be pretty cool, but there's two things that are niggling at me,
1) I doubt Rusell can play guitar, at least like Brian.
2) Dr. May is totally devoid of a sense of humour. :P

Why not just go totally mental and cast...

Stephen Merchant as Brian May
Ricky Gervais as Roger Taylor
Karl Pilkington as John Deacon
Don't shun it!

This is just off the top of my head, but Josh Hopkins with blonde hair dye for Roger, Bill Paxton for John, and MAYBE Paul Reiser with a black wig as Brian... I haven't decided on that one yet. I have two questions for Queenzoners: (1). Are they REALLY making this biopic?, and (2). It's funny I should mention Hopkins' hair being dyed for the Roger role, because I need closure on a popular rumour - did the most awesome drummer in the universe REALLY dye his hair green? The rumour says he did for a while, and dyed it NEON green. It this true?!??!!???

Yep, it is true, I don't know about neon green now, but he definitely did, but it was an accident as far as I know.

I think Andrew Garfield would be a good choice for Brian. Good young British actor you might remember from Social Network. And he's already got kinda 'big' hair.

Maybe Renee Zellweger for Mary.

Donna13 - "Maybe Renee Zellweger for Mary." Good idea. It would get Renee's career going again. Your suggestion made me freeze in shock for a moment, because I am a MASSIVE Chicago fan. Seriously, that movie is a classic. Best movie made from a musical EVER, and probably in my top 20 films. It suddenly occurs to me that Renee's character Roxie Hart is very much a female version of Freddie, with her vaudeville passion and outlandish personality.
