I'm almost hoping it's true - whilst I want it in the UK so I can go, I have a gig with my band on New Years Eve which the rest of my band will be very unhappy about me cancelling!

I'm not saying it is true, but they would deny it until the official announcement is ready to be made.

As is always the case, there is probably some truth within the rumour, for example, they may be playing NYE but just not in Sydney, or they may be playing in Sydney but just not on NYE, they may be playing with George Michael but not in Sydney and not on NYE etc.....

I hope it's bull.  I've already been to Sydney once this year and frankly, they owe me one.

I'll be VERY disappointed and annolyed as hell if this turns out to be the rumoured 40th Anniversary concert.
It's great for all you Aussies, but being an English band I'd expect them to hold it in England somewhere and Sydneys is WAY out of the question for me.
