Well, I speak as a PINK FLOYD collector: there is nothing really new in the re-issues, bar from the WISH YOU WERE HERE James Guthrie 2009 5.1 mix and a couple of 2011 mixes. Fans had most of the other 'rare' tracks since... I don't know... ages? And those mammoth releases are definetely meant for the fans and collectors - not the casual buyer!

I agree. Things like that are only for big fans and collectors. I speak as a Paul McCartney collector, and I can say the exact same thing, other than the songs. Paul only released a few new things that have never escaped the vaults. But the thing is, I still went out and bought the 3CD 1DVD Band on the Run, McCartney (this only has 2 CDs) and McCartney II.
Only fans and collectors will buy these. But that also, some fans will still only buy Greatest Hits. For example, today I was loading songs for my sister onto her iPod, and she said that she only wants Greatest Hits.
That's why I'm wondering if it would just be better for QP to just release an Anthology, like The Beatles. Sure, they'll charge 60$ for 2CDs, but we'll FINALLY get official releases of demos we don't have. One day. For Freddie's 600th birthday, if that soon.
