Canada's got it but not the US. Looks like we're stuck with the stupid flag all day ...

To the Americans:

"Our doodle celebrating Freddie's birthday can be seen around the world on September 5 and, out of respect for Labor Day, in the U.S. on September 6".

Grrrr...it's not on the USA Google Search page today.
Instead, we get a teeny tiny icon of a waving US flag - for Labor Day.

It was fun and a good tribute!

Well done Google.

It's on Google in America today. Google did not want the tribute to conflict with the Labor Day holiday.

^ I found that kind of interesting, and wondered what it meant.  I know comparatively little about the history of Labour unions in the US.  It was of course Labour day elsewhere in the world, and Labour Day is certainly a big deal here as well, so was it down to the comparative power of unions in the US and the unwillingness to risk offending them?  Something more like the general tendency of America to look inward rather than outward?  Perhaps too there are specific sensitivities right now because of the jobs situation overall and the hotly controversial goings on in Wisconsin relating to public sector unions.  Anyway, it was a cool Doodle and a well deserved one.   Hope Americans enjoy it today.
