How is this possible? Isn't the material the band's own at the end of the day? Are UMG that moronic that they didn't realise it was the Official Queen channel perhaps?

Does Queen own all rights from their music?  Just because they wrote it doesn't necessarily mean it's all theirs.

Licensing and publishing is done outside of the band.  Any number of organizations could have gotten their hands in there.
