That's wonderful! I think we'll get extras from the interviews as well, because Thomas did state this:
Q: The new interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor are very revealing. It's touching to see Brian wipe away a tear when talking about finally getting his father's seal of approval after watching the band at Madison Square Gardens.
RT: That's a lovely moment, and something that Brian has never talked about publically before. I think both he and Roger are on great form in the new interviews. They really opened up for us, speaking more candidly than at any time in their past. There's more that we couldn't fit into the two one-hour programmes that are being broadcast, so we might end up doing an extended cut for DVD at a later date.
Would really be interested in the stuff that didn't make it to the documentary!

Ha! Shall we start laughing now?
I bet it will be a 60i conversion on Bluray from the PAL 50i master. That means the picture will have 'drag' on it and also jerk on UKTV's.
Ironically, because of thousands of complaints regarding 60i conversions, the BBC & 2Entertain have made it POLICY that no more BBC material will be released in 60i in PAL countries. I only hope that this IS being released by 2Entertain and not Universal....

I rather have 1080p, especially when the archive footage appears to be shot on film (8mm & 16mm).

I hope that the Freddie bit where he sings My Melancholy Blues from the BBC session 1977 which we can see in the happy birthday compilation video is on this DVD/BR.

I rather have 1080p, especially when the archive footage appears to be shot on film (8mm & 16mm). -------------- although i saw some VHS -and even U-matic- sourced footage on the documentary, the 8 mm footage has at least 800 lines and 16 mm 1800 so i think with a bit of work from QP the blu-ray could has "real" 1080p .... I hope they make it right...
Anyway GREAT info! i wish they add some more hyde park, rainbow, earls court footage!

Anyone on Twitter, could you ask Rhys Thomas which session this footage is from?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIiw37JAW5A
I suspect it is the Live Killers over-dubbing sessions, as the studio looks suspiciously like Mountain.

Yes, the Mack stuff at the end looks to be from a different source. In the first part of the clip, I think David Richards is visible.

From Rhys Thomas website:
An update from Rhys... He has been busy producing/directing/editing the DVD/Blu Ray release of the 'Queen: Days of Our Lives' documentary.
It has got so many extras that it has been like making a third episode. They have decided not to just bung on deleted scenes but make a whole new disc of extras, documentaries and videos fully edited and treated with the same care as the main feature.

Sounds very exciting....
