I don't know, it's certainly less pop than the released one, but as a bass player I love the bass line and solo in the "normal" one

The ''Highlander'' version was write by Roger, Freddie changed it for make the song more dance and accessible, i understand that decision, and A Kind of Magic is a great hit, even nowdays, and was very good for Queen at that point.
But i prefer the Roger version, is more dark and epic, I'm glad they include the song in the remaster version of the album.
