I know that some of the 7 46033 2 CDs contain it, for example - but would this also include the Digital Mastering 17 track ones from the UK?
That version is only contained in all the original EMI releases (CDP 7 46033 2, both red and silver CD pressings) and even on the 1992 reissue from Parlophone (also included in the green GH I&II box).

The Digital Master Series from 1994 and all the newer releases DO NOT contain the original single mix - they have the regular album version instead.

What's the difference between this single version and the album version?

The Save Me 7" was released 6 months before The Game. As a result,
the single has the same performance but a slightly different mix compared
to the final version that appeared on the album. You can really hear the
differences on Freddie's vocals, which are phased. The cymbals are buried
in the mix and the guitar part around 1:30 is mixed differently as well.

And is there only one version of the Japan CP32-5381 CD with red text on silver /typical CD background?
Surely this also appears on the Singles Boxset?
If it's not then that's a grievous, unforgivable, error....

unfortunately, it is in fact the album mix on the Singles Box 2.  Pretty ridiculous oversight indeed...

Honestly, the differences are really really minor.
So there is no (even slight) editing?
