Yes, it is the exact "same robot". This is because the cover of NOTW was *based* on this magazine cover, something you would have known if you'd have spent 2 minutes searching the internet.

Guess it was lost in translation. That said, yea it might have been inspired by the NOTW inner cover shot. i'd say so based on the orange hue and white highlights. But aside from that it's just another example of people being giants.
Maybe the artist had some goading in mind toward students, and someone familiar would have caught the trail from NOTW to WWRY to WATC (which the albums' best recognized for).... seeing how it "champions" students and the educated over people who get seats of power by frequently exploiting the gullible and/or ignorant.
Nice piece of work though... thanks for sharing that. Makes me wanna get back to drawing/painting
