"She's much too busy "strictly" rehearsing 8-10 hrs a day with smokin' hot
dance hottie: Robin Windsor."

There aren't many straight men who'd put one up Anita Dobson, so I have no idea why she's knocking on a gay guy.

It's certainly true that the site is the epitome of turn of the century technical achievement.  LOL  But in an odd way I like it like that, or at least appreciate it as a reflection of Brian and his ever present sense of loyalty.  His staff is somebody named 'Jen' I think  who was involved back when the brianmay.com domain didn't belong to him.  They graciously gave it to him when he was ready to oversee his own official site and he kept her on as web designer where she apparently remains at the cost of a certain degree of polish and coherence on the site.  So we lose some slickness and some accuracy, but in return we have a site remarkably free of the tightly controlled arm's length involvement that usually get between an artist and fans in these endeavors.  The site, like Brian, is sincere but imperfect.  We are lucky fans I think.

I'm virtually certain that the Soapbox and Letters sections are personally and exclusively directed by him, with staff dealing with the news gathering etc. in other sections.  Both email responses I've gotten from him were sent in the middle of the night GMT, which aren't exactly staff hours.   We are all familiar with Brian's 'voice' at this point, and I have no doubt that the priorities and language are him in those sections.   There is nothing about the communication that indicates it's a situation where somebody's been hired to manage his 'personal' tweets or something.

He was ahead of the crowd with his own website and the soap box is basically a blog (probably one of the first blogs).  It is interesting that he has such a personal connection to the fans (even in the middle of the night - ha).  I enjoy the personal things he shares and I think it is brave and very kind of him to be that accessible.  It must be pretty thrilling to get an email from him.

GFF - Thanks, I do agree that select content on the site is written by Brian.  I presume, however, that to be respectful of Brian's time, incoming e-mails are pre-screened for him and only a limited number of them are routed to him for review and any response he's inclined to send.    I agree that responses sent in the middle of the night are from Brian and I don't believe anyone else would be allowed to sign his name.
I'll be right behind you, right until the ends of the Earth
