MERQRY - This is Brian's quote on every show being recorded:
" we normally did have a tape machine running on the desk. Now the thing is, that records something very dry, and it was really for our own use, in other words, there's no ambience from the room and there's no audience on there, so the things tend to sound kind of sterile. And so we used it to check our own performance and to find out how we were playing together and stuff. They weren't generally held to be intended to be heard by the general public. But it's all locked away somewhere and I suppose it could be looked at."

It's not just a simple 'soundboard' audio which exits (soundboard audio recordings most usually refer to a stereo mixdown created 'on the go' from the desk as the gig happens, but which cannot be remixed afterwards).[/QUOTE]
Bingo. The Sun City '84 recording that popped out a few years back is an example. Sounds good but dry, as Brian explained above.

This is not true! Queen doesn't have these shows in their archives. Qp are looking for these shows. THE sc shows were most likely recorded by someone working at THE venue. 5 complete shows should be out there.

Both Bob Marley and Roy Orbison have their last concerts released.
I think the same will eventually happen for Knebworth... We're actually really lucky the gig was recorded professionally (on multitrack to be precise). It could be a live album while Marley's last concert was just a soundboard mix, not intended to be released...

crap crap and more crap. You dont have 6 or 7 or i dont know how many cameras aiming to the band for 2 hours and record nothing. I think that for some reason they lost(or destroyed??) the tapes and they mainly have what was shown on the big screnn(not able to choose the angles they like because of this) + what doro filmed. But i dont think the whole concert was not taped. The same they said of wembley 1st night. If u check the 2nd dvd of the 2003 release. The director says " we recorded some of the previous night" which was a LIE, because the whole concert was taped and released last year.
Only time will tell. BUt i'm sure that they will release it at some point. If not complete , i'm still happy with a cd copy.
I thimk they may release argentina 81, japan 82 or rainbow 74 this year.

The cameras were there to feed the big screens...
I know there are a multitracks recording of the show, but i think there isn´t any COMPLETE video recording of the gig...
the bored footage from the screen that the archivist said can be the one recorded from audience...
i´d wish they release Argentina 81 this year, but it´s hard since they not included any footage from Arg in the Doc...
i think they release officialy in dvd only footage that has a multitrack audio source (montreal, live aid, milton keynes, wembley)
