'Father to Son' has Led Zep all over it. In fact, I think the riff is taken straight from one of their tracks (can anyone pinpoint which one?).
The outtro of Out On The Tiles. They really are similar.

Zeppelin were so huge. They influenced just about every rock band at the time.

Modern Times Rock 'N Roll: Led Zep. Just listen to Comunication Breakdown. I hear Zeppelin influences in Son & Daughter also, mainly the guitar riff.
Funny How Love Is: The Beach Boys, I guess?
Bingo on all three.
But for Funny How Love Is, I'd say it's the Phil Spector sound in general. It's who Brian Wilson was trying to emulate.
In Son and daughter i hear more Black Sabath influences...
Well See what a fool i´ve been is almost a cover, but it has influences from Dazed and confused (led zep) too (is curious that led zep song is almost a cover too)

The Loser In The End is very close to Children Of The Revolution by T.Rex.

Easiest that no one's mentioned here:

Headlong - FIRE WOMAN [or that whole album] (THE CULT)

Action This Day - (dry beat) My Sharona - The Knack
"Come tonight! Come see the Overbite! Come to Ogre Battle, FIGHT!"

Agreed, I always thought this was a nod to Sabath, specifically Iron Man.

Another interesting one:

My Baby Does Me - 1989 (rhythm) - "NO ORDINARY LOVE" - 1992 - SADE

(ODDLY ENOUGH THIS IS IN REVERSE... Her Song sounds like Queen's song)

I think a similar thread was here on QZ: SEARCH: PLAGIARISM

Boys of Summer = Breakthru
and Keep Passing the Open Windows was another song
"Come tonight! Come see the Overbite! Come to Ogre Battle, FIGHT!"

More random thoughts:

I thought the Sade connection was interesting as the intro to 'These Are The Days of Our Lives' sounds a lot like the intro on 'Smooth Operator'.

The intro to 'It's a Hard Life' is ripped off an opera.

'Rain Must Fall' sounds like it was an outtake from Wham!'s 'Make It Big' album and 'My Baby Does Me' sounds very George Michael-esque.

'Scandal' sounds a lot like a Scorpions tune (don't know the title).

Slightly OT, I always wondered what an AC/DC cover of 'Fat Bottomed Girls would sound like.

That something sounds a bit like something doesn't mean it was influenced by something.

The only think that links Last Horizon to The Shadows is that it's an instrumental song with lead guitar playing the melody. Like Joe Satriani does, and Steve Vai, Jeff Beck and many many more.

This thread is surreal....

Maybe the opening question should have ask some citations to prove the influences.

Next time we will see that Somebody To Love sounds like Justin Bieber ¬¬

------

We probably should look artists like:

Beatles
Beach Boys (Funny How Love Is)
The Who
Led Zeppellin (Innuendo, Queen I)
Cream
Aretha Franklin (Somebody To Love)
Chic (AOBTD)
Elvis
Lennon
Mott The Hoople

I don't get it, why do you think each song they do has to be influenced by either another song or another artist just because they sound a little like the other?

For example, songs like Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon and Seaside Rendezvous are most definitely NOT influenced by The Beatles, why would they? Those songs are influenced by the vaudeville era and that is exactly what Freddie is trying to do, bring you back there.
Another One Bites the Dust doesn't have to be influenced by Chic just because the bass riff sound similar, it's just Deacon's take on black funky music in general.

I think it's more of Queen trying their own versions of certain musical STYLES rather than bands.

Nile rodgers said in an interview that John deacon used to hang with them in the studio and that AOBTD was clearly influenced by them

But in the case of Life is Real for example Freddie said that he deriberately tried to recreate Lennos ubstract lyrics and concepts.
ex. "Blood on my terraces Torsos in my closet Shadows from my past live is real"

ps. and a little trivia some might dont know. The original opening line of the song used to be "cunt stains on my pillow" !!! LOL
