"Freddie Mercury’s solo albums were not fantastic – they were very of the time they were released and now seem dated beyond belief."
Barcelona wasn't fantastic?
I'd be interested in your views on some of the things written.

Mr Bad Guy is shit. its worse than Hot Space. Barcelona is good if you like pure opera.

No, stop being a gusher.. Barcelona was very average with 2 or 3 standout tracks.
I havent listened to it for about 20 years its so good....

Barcelona is hardly an "Opera" album. It's just some songs that feature an Opera singer.
Mr. Bad Guy suffered from a weak drum machine and average players.

Barcelona is great. Mr. Bad guy would have been better if it had real instruments and a rock aspect to it instead of pop.
The Mr Bad Guy album doesn't stand up as well as any of the Queen albums.
i love Mr bad guy album great songs and under rated
quality control.
all of their solo albums suffered without the critical input of the other three to rein them in a little when they start to disappear up their own egos
it happens. take away your usual peer group and replace them with a crowd of fawning sychophants depserate to be part of your inner circle and what you get is something that sounds a little like the artist w*nking off

Mr. Bad Guy is the penultimate example of what Queen would've been without Brian and Roger, and to a lesser extend, John.
If it weren't for the relatively sub-par solo albums, we would've forever taken the symbiosis of the band for granted.

Moron, I asked a question. And asking a question doesn't make me a "gusher". Comprehendo?
Yeah, that's my view on it too. Bad guy has dated I can agree to that, but Barcelona is a great album.
Mr. Bad Guy: good songs, bad production.
