That is a great documentary, the guitar build is indeed pretty interesting, my guess is many have tried but failed early on. Mr May design and construction surpasses 99% of guitars out there, the shear versitility of it is astounding when compared to a Les Paul or Strat

However, building your own guitar due to not having money to buy a real one has happened for decades!
