i can't speak for you...as i don't know how old you are, but the "grumpy old man" syndrome i have acquired does have greater influence as you get older. in mitigation i think it's directly proportionate in reaction to the increasing amount of knobs, dicks, c*nts, stepfords, and general cabbage-brains around here

freddie has been gone over 20 years. in that time Brian and Roger have had ample opportunity to do some good stuff. unfortunately, in 20 years there have been less than a handful of "good new memories", and fucking great armfuls of "shit new rather forgettable items"
