You know what, I've a funny feeling some QZ'ers may end up eating their words over the Adam Lambert collaboration (Brenski, looking at you fella). How some can be so negative on something that hasn't yet happened is a little weird. Give it, give him, give them a chance. If it is crap, say so after the event.
I remember a documentary a few years ago on C4 in the UK, when Bob Geldof said these songs need to be performed live. They should find a young kid with the range of Freddie and get out on the road. Seems to me, thats what they are hoping to do.
Give it a chance, have an open mind, it isn't Freddie of course, but it just might be a welcome suprise.[/QUOTE]
you don't get it. i have NOTHING against them doing the queen thing til they all die...it's their right and their band...but for fuck's sake...and all that's precious in sweet life...picka fuckign singer that works....i hate lambert for almost ALL of the opposite reasons to why i dind't like paul rodgers.....
there are loads of singers out there that could be good, just NOT this one
ps - if they had any real bottle - they'd do a tour of Brian/Roger songs - and fuckign well sing them themselves!!!!

I have a funny feeling that you've forgotten that Adam Lambert has already sung with Brian and Roger.
Now, if they somehow pull a rabbit out of the hat and it doesn't completely suck like last time, then it will be a pleasant and welcome surprise. But don't blame people for being skeptical. He's given us plenty to worry about in the past.
Like I said, I'm holding onto the hope that they pick a few interesting songs and that Brian and Roger get to sing a bit. That was always the highlight of the Paul Rodgers tours.

To be honest I'm pretty excited for this. While there's a good chance it'll be terrible, at least it'll be something NEW which involves Brian and Roger playing Queen songs.

I'll never get past the fact that he's a karaoke leftover from a show which bri and rog have been very vocal about NOT liking (I suppose that's a mellow term)
it's pissing all over a great legacy. and I'll never understand the fans who are happy for brian and roger to be out there playing, NO matter what. I wonder where they can go from this in a downward direction?
I fully excpect to see them at a shopping mall, 10 yrs from now, where they have auditions to find people who can be either
a: in a local branch of WWRY
b: in a local branch of QE
c: and who knows...the lastest Queen+ singer

maybe Mr. Taylor is influenced by Katty Perry?

there's fans around here who'd be deleriously ecstatic if Bri/Rog were "out there gigging"...even if "out there gigging" involved paint-stripper fuelled alcoholic mumbling buskers sat with their stray dogs on some seaside pier aged 85, attempting to play "39" with roger headbutting a tambourine
and these clowns would still "dis" me for having the temerity to criticise this latest embarrassing "2032 incarnation of Queen+"

I honestly thought he was talking about the pyro and stage production.

As a real fan and follower of Queen, I hate to see negative comments made about them. If not a fan then dont use this means! See all the real fans at the Hammersmith 12 July.

Hoping I can get some honest, unbiased feedback on a few of Adams new songs. We think the whole album is sublime but figure y'all would be the harshest critics ;)

FWIW, and you can take my thoughts with a grain of salt, I think Adam Lambert is a superb singer, for certain types of material. On all of the links provided, he can sing for sure, but the music provides zero emotional impact. One of my favourite challenges is trying to like a song by an artist who I absolutely hate. For instance, I can't stand Justin Timberlake, but I think he did a superb job on Hallelujah from the Concert for Haiti. I bought it, very honest rendition. I haven't heard anything from Adam Lambert that is emotionally honest to me, and that's because I don't think he knows who he is as an artist. Is he a Broadway guy? A reality show wannabe? A guy who sings what comes his way (to me that's him)? I'd like to hear Adam Lambert finding his voice as a writer. Until that time, he's a soulless guy with great pipes. That's my honest take, agree or disagree.

Define 'unbiased'. Wouldn't that just be any feedback that comes from a non-Lambert fan who has no emotional or financial investment in his career?
