I'm sure most people here will be aware that Brian will be on the QT panel tomorrow night, what make's it a bit more interesting though is that Kelvin MacKenzie the former editor of The Sun will also be on the panel. MacKenzie is the man part responsible for the Freddie 'AIDS' headlines of the late 80's early 90's. He also seems to be pro everything that Brian is anti.

I just hope that Brian doesn't rise to the obvious baiting there will be from McKenzie, who is famous for trying to wind opponents up and try to mock them and pick at them to try to make them lose their cool.

I always hope this sort of thing won't happen. Brian's heart is in the right place but he's one of those people who are a little emotional to do well in any kind of debate. My sister is another one. The cunt from The Sun will probably rile him up and undermine his message, all the while dropping cute remarks about hippies, the economy, and the pest animals that no one cares about.
Brian can be right on every point and still get virtually laughed out of the room. I hope it doesn't go that way.

It's funny how differently I see him. I think he is virtually always exceptional when speaking. Just the right mix of class, diplomacy, sincerity and strength of conviction. The only time I've seen him slip a little is once, talking about...badgers. Compared to his writing, where he frequently sounds positively unhinged, for me his on camera work is genuinely a joy.

Probably good he's not appearing. Pop singers on Question Time are cringeworthy. Boy George and Will Young spring to mind. Complete egits - as are most pop people. Brian May is a clever guy but I prefer informed discussion from people in the know. Irrespective of whether one agrees or not. Who gives a s--t as to what some two-bit popstar has to say!!?
