Hello, after a lot of time of work, close to studies and examinations, I deliver to you my latest project. This is the revision of Jazz album. The main idea was give to it a cleaner sound, fixing some things here and there, eliminating hiss and clicks, etcetera...
There are some surprises too and other features.
Just listen to Dreamer's Ball ;)
So, here is the link. I hope you like it.

Oh, no problem! Might the page went down or something. I'll try to upload it later. However, thanks for trying Brenski! Maybe soon it'll work.

Worked fine for me. Here's some thoughts so far...
For the most part very enjoyable work, I especially enjoyed some of the volume corrections, like Let Me Entertain You. Some stuff on the other hand felt unnecessary, but I'll get into more detail track by track here.
MUSTAPHA - I prefer the original for one reason, here the volume changes sound too forced, as opposed to the original mix's sort of lo-fi->hi-fi transitions. But otherwise, there's a lot on your version that would've been great to have in the original - the reverb at the end "hey" for instance.
FBG - Good job on raising the vocal tracks and making the snare sound more humane. I wouldn't have touched the opening vocals priorities though. Still pondering on panning the guitars.
JEALOUSY - Nothing to moan about here, good job. Especially liked the more airy sound of the ride cymbal.
BICYCLE - Again, not so sure about changing the priorities of opening vocals. Otherwise, well done.
IYCBT - Ouch. The complete silences felt out of place, I prefer a bit of air. Also, people breathe even while singing; it's not wrong to have that on tape. Still also, "sure feelSSS good" was kinda badly copypasted, and I'm not completely convinced Freddie meant to say "feelS". Overall, the whole song sounded a bit too tight and airless.
LMEY - Very commendable work here. Probably my favourite song on the album and now it's even better.
DEAD - Nice. Extra natural thunderbolt - interesting and nice. The only thing that kinda hit me in the ear was the panning on that mini drumsolo; while it was a nice idea, I would've probably done it the other way round. Now it sounds like either the listener is behind the drums, or Roger's playing mirrored.
IOSD - Can't remember much that I paid attention to here, so it must've been rather good.
DREAMERS BALL - Some good ideas there, but you should've taken them a bit further maybe. Reverb on Freddie's vocals rendered the rest of the band feeling like they were in a different room. But I liked the overall different feel to it.
FUN IT - Can't remember much that I paid attention to here, but the echo at the end was a bit off, because it's supposed to be a very tight song. The flow to the next track felt a bit too delayed. The original felt better that way.
LHAE - Good stuff. Couldn't think of anything negative to say (yet).
DSMN - Brilliant. Great overall improvement, and your work on the tambourine was a nice detail.
MOTJ - Yeah well... it is what it is. Can't think of anything to say, because I always get bored with it.
Haven't listened to the five bonuses yet, but the reworked album itself is a recommendable listen. Thanks for the most interesting 44 and a half minutes of Queen listening I've had in quite a long time. =)

I will look forward to downloading and hearing this over the weekend. It will probably be the first time I've listened to the whole of the Jazz album for 30 years!
Oh, and you could have called this "Jazzed". :)

sorry, still not working for me
wonder if it's a mediafire/virgin media thing?
anyhow, woulda really liked to hear these - as your other stuff has been interesting
any chance of "upping" these elsewhere?
out of interest, were you hanging around outside EMI, wardour street 1993, when the master tapes went missing? because it sounds like you have access to them
well done (again)

Thanks for this Matius.
Currently listening through my Grados and will have another go tomorrow through my proper speakers.
I have to ask if it's possible for you to re-upload the tracks and all future work as FLAC rather than mp3....
Love what you've done to the end of Mustapha with the echo... :)

Hi. Fist of all, I'm really sorry Brenski for not reading this before and uploaded it again at time, I'm glad you downloaded it and hope you really enjoy it (and thank you very much Rien for the help). Hahahaha, I would like to have those famous "lost master tapes", it would be so much easier (or better if they have done it when they launched the remasters to the market). I'm very occupied to work full time on this project, and more to put a tutorial. I dedicate a day or two for every song.
JacquesDaniels, I'm happy you liked and enjoyed it. I can't argue any of your appreciates, because all of them are purely subjective opinions. I'm with you at your thoughts about If You Can Beat Them: the main problem with this song is that the drums are very flat and the snare sounds awful (In fact, I think this and Fun It are the worst mixed songs of the whole album), so it was very difficult to manipulate it without interfering with the other elements, like the vocals or the bass high notes.
As for Fun It, the final echo was to not finish it so harsh (however, you might be right about the delay time between this and LHaE, the fact to me is that the track order is not good, I'd never put them together). I'm glad you really liked most of the others (my favorite results are LMEY, DoT, Jealousy, Dreamer's Ball and DSMN, the songs in which you can realize better the face wash).
My track order for Jazz (considering the low relation level between the songs) would have been:
01. Mustapha
02. Fat Bottomed Girls
03. If You Can't Beat Them
04. Dead on Time
05. Let Me Entertain You
06. Fun It
07. Bicycle Race
08. In Only Seven Days
09. Dreamer's Ball
10. Jealousy
11. More of That Jazz (a shorter version)
12. Leaving Home ain't Easy
13. Don't Stop Me Now
Lord Fickle, as all people here, I really want you to hear it and hope you like it. I never stopped to think about the title, but thanks for your suggestion. It might would have been something interesting, but I prefer to leave the names creativity for the remixes, and call this like a serious project using the original name for every album :)
Pootle1, thanks for the feedback. As the WAV or FLAC formats are very weighty, I uploaded the songs in 320 Kbps MP3, the best quality for them. The whole album on WAV weights 627Mb, and on this way you can have it more quickly, just 125Mb. At the moment those are my resources, as I don't have a paid account on Mediafire and it would take a lot of time to upload one per one. Anyway, might I could share them by Queen Hub. Oh, I like the Mustapha echo too!

Hey man, really, REALLY digging on what you're puttin' down here. It sounds GREAT!
I'm not even going to pretend that I can hear ALL the changes; my favorites so far are Dead on Time, LMEY, IYCBT... I like the removal of the 'air' actually. It's a really different feel.
I also like the change in the intro harmonies of FBG.
There's a TON to digest here and a lot of 'A-B-ing' to really appreciate the work.
Thanks SO much for this! I'm already anxiously waiting for more and I'm still listening to this pretty much non-stop.
-that thunderbolt is AWESOME!

Given your previous work, I'm looking forward to hearing this one as well. Thanks for your work!

Hi Beatmichael, I really thank you for your so nice response. I'm really glad you liked it, and hope you listen to Jazz in a more enjoyable way. One of the purposes here was to make audible some vocal or instrument work that wasn't before like now they are, like the FBG low harmonies (beside correct some volume changes and fix clicks and hiss). As you say, the point was to give a different feel. As for the thunderbolt, I tried to emulate a more real sound, and I'm happy that you liked it so much. Thank you for your thoughts and the strength to keep my work go on :)
PrioteQ, I would like you to hear it at a moment which you can relax and listen it complete, so it will be an enjoyable experience. Thanks for your comments!

I'm afraid I'm going to need more time on this. I've only managed to listen to two tracks so far, other than Dreamer's, and they are FBG and DSMN. FBG sounded fine, and I like the way you've cleaned up the opening vocals, but not sure about that guitar panning. Feels like there's something missing there, and when I was expecting the second 'layer' of guitar to come in on the right hand side, it almost seemed like it wasn't there. There's a bit towards the end, too, where it sounds like a guitar part is 'buried' in the mix. Sorry, but I'm a big Brian fan, and I like to hear all of the guitars loud and clear. :)
DSMN, I have to admit, I couldn't hear that much difference, but I'm so used to hearing my own mix of this, I've kind of forgotten what the original sounds like! No complaints, though - it certainly sounded OK.
I hope to be able to hear the rest of this during the week. I've copied it to my iPod, so I'll listen in the car, and come back to comment on the other tracks soon.
