You didn't even bother to do a little research on it before you spent money on the thing? That would probably have been smart.

When the original Parlophone 2008 Tour Edition came out, it did not list individual songwriting credits, just "All songs by Queen + Paul Rodgers."

The Hollywood Records version a few months later actually listed each song's writer.

Sounds like Universal is taking their cue from Hollywood Records.

Does the new Universal edition claim to be remastered or anything? If it was simply a re-issue by the new label, with no bells and whistles, it's no crime. The album is part of their catalogue, of course they'll release it under the new label.

If it didn't have anything new, I wouldn't have felt any obligation to buy it.

Maybe a track by track commentary on why most of the album was bad, rushed, poorly conceived, hurriedly executed.

Or maybe that's something only Spinal Tap would do...like on SHARK SANDWICH.

Ftr: I like a few tracks... A lot.

Just too much bad stuff on it, bad mixes even. And a jaw dropping laughingly stupidly titled song: SURF'S UP, SCHOOL'S OUT.

Overall, it didn't have the vitality or fun of a Queen album, but it had the MOR flavoring of a Bad Company album, but none of the spice and sting of an ORIGINAL (line up) era FREE album...

But it was nowhere near as bad as an album by THE FIRM.
Thanks for the warning... I wasn't looking to buy it again anyways. I lucked out and spent an extra $5 to get the one with the Japan highlights on DVD... That was great.

Album art sucked balls though.

Seriously, what is it with the need to inject negativity into every subject on Queenzone??

Pathetic!

I new that there were no extras on the disc, but i thought it might have been remasterd. But no it is the same release as before with just a new cd case.I already have the release with the Super Queen in Japan DVD,which is available again, though Amazon want nearly £20 for it.

"SURF'S UP, SCHOOL'S OUT" - there is really a song on it called that?! Wow, Q+PR are soooo cool...

Surf's Up is a great Roger track, IMHO.

It's easier for most people to complain than it is to offer anything worthwhile.

What amuses me most is when positive comments appear, the posters are accused of being sycophantic Yes Men who blindly accept every Queen release as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It's never going to stop, so my approach is to try to leave value judgements to a minimum now and advance our collective knowledge.

Maybe it's as simple as Paul Rodgers' legal team doing it's job. Maybe this clears the way for a possible reunion tour. Maybe there's a lot of things we don't take into account when a label releases something.

Fair point.
I'll withdraw my humorous blight next time and save it for an analysis of the album, rather than its packaging and additional/lack of content.

I DID mention there were some good songs; and that the preferred version would undoubtedly be the one with a bonus dvd. THAT bit, was exciting.

Its just a catalogue #, but I don't see why "Runaway" wouldn't be included, for the simple fact that it was made during those sessions.

Was the fan base anticipating a release of the 46664 studio tracks??

Maybe "take love"?
