This could be a well known fact to Gary, Greg and the like, but I'd not hear it before; check out the following link for a mention of Roger depping/guesting with a band in 1973 during Queen's early days:

That's quite interesting....and will probably spark a hunt for any recordings that may have been made lol.

Only thing is, can only find reference to 1971 (maybe I'm just being blind???)

You're right - 1971 it is; I think my eyes were deceiving me!

Gotta love a Trixon kit, some of them back then had weird shaped drums, with a smaller front head to the back or (batter head) on the bass drum from example. Not sure which kit Roger had but they were pretty popular in the 60's.

I'd read he'd used one at some point but didn't know exactly when. Interesting ... possibly, he used it for the 1971 recordings then.

Does anybody know if the kit he had with Smile was a Trixon as well, or did he already use Ludwig in those days?
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
