I've recently re-watched the 10 movies in the hammer Dracula series, a fantastic watch, ranging from the brilliant to the terrible.

Camper than a row of tents! Some of them were fantastic. Dracula Prince of Darkness is my favourite.

they were brilliant...for what they were...esp Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing

That's the one where the script had to be re-written because Christopher lee refused to speak isn't it?

When I was a wee nipper, I used to sit up late on a Friday/Saturday nights with my mum to watch some of these old Hammer films, and particularly loved the Dracula ones with Christopher Lee. This was when ITV used to "close" after the late films lol (usually about 11.30 or midnight). Those were the days.....

Was glad when Hammer made a comeback with the "Woman In Black" movie starring Daniel Radcliffe earlier in the year. Was a good film, and a sequel has already been confirmed.

@emrabt - not sure if this was the re-written effort because CL refused to speak, but I can confirm that Princes Of The Universe was NOT used in the soundtrack :)

I'm sure you're wrong; it's played over the opening narration while the recap of the end of the first movie is being played.

LOL, you're right - and the CL stood for Christopher Lambert, not Christopher Lee :)

This topic has reminded me that I actually got the Hammer box set for £25 a couple of years ago.... have never got round to watching it yet(like a lot of sets I buy lol) but now I feel it's time!!!

@ David - I haven't watched the discs fully as of yet, but I have skipped through a few of them and the quality is ok. No remastering by the look of it, but still nice for £25 (or less....depending where you're looking lol)

@ emrabt - Well, it doesn't have everything, that's true - but it has all of the proper classics. Well worth the money, regardless...

I love, love, love these awful films. On par with the great Garth Marenghi, but Hammer Horror films are the real deal.
