He also played this bit at the three previous gigs.
...And I assume the title came to him when somebody said the solo was like chinese water torture.
In my opinión the solo was getting better each time Brian played it
I disagree, I think it got more and more boring and endless. The most listenable for me was the early one that came in the middle of Son And Daughter and followed Brighton Rock's solo fairly closely.
Boring and endless. Agree. lol
I heard Chinese Torture once in 1989.
Bad memories.
Crap.

It's certainly over long for its couple of minutes (or is it a minute and a half? something like that) but I was pleased when I heard it back in '89 - echos of the ADATR intro, or Procession (albeit through an 80s filter) Perhaps would be thought of more kindly if attached to another track to give it more substance? A short interlude before Party kicks in? At 10 tracks, I always felt the album felt even more slight than the shorter albums that preceded it and the addition of a short abstract 11th track on all formats such as CT would've nailed the fact Queen were back to their pompous best.
"nailed the fact Queen were back to their pompous best."
You sound a little bit like a dickhead.

Just ignore him, everyone else does. He/she/it likes nothing better than slagging people off for its own amusement. Once told me I was an arselicker because I told BM I enjoyed the WWRY Glasgow show when I met him last year. Quite sad and pathetic, really.
Well on fact he played a bit of Khashoggi´s ship on Houston 77... but yeah i did noticed it... brian used to play bits of songs during his guitar solo
