Multitrack player

I know i can use Audacity or other editing software like Adobe Audition or Mixcraft.But what i want is only a player.

A player like VLC, Kmplayer, Winamp or WMP but with multitrack capabilities like turning off/on individual tracks and pan left/right. Does that even exist?

Thats exactly what Audacity does!? Have you tried it? You dont have to use it to 'edit' music.

Just use it as a player and isolate,remove specific tracks as you like.

Yes, i have it. But i would like to use something that doesn't take all the screen. Something smaller, something that doesn't require me to constantly scroll up or down just to turn off/turn on tracks at the same time the tracks are playing.

Do you know Van Basco Karaoke Player for midis/kar files? It's got an option to turn off/on tracks in a very small window without having the need to constantly scroll up or down when track is playing.

I know i can do that with Audacity, but i would like something visually smaller.

Good luck finding one. Since leaked multis likely only appeal to a niche demographic of music consumers in general, I doubt anyone will bother to develop one anytime soon for the purpose you described above.

That being said, you could always inquire on other music/audio-specific forums elsewhere on the Internet :-)

Just collapse and resize the window. It doesn't have to be full screen..

Yes, plus there is an option in Audacity to fit all the tracks to the screen so there is no scrolling up and down (things can get cramped though as you can imagine)

If Audacity is still too complex for your taste, you should give up on multitracks, because there just isn't anything more bare-bones that'll do the job.

basically, having all of the functionality of an editor, but in a player-only app

isn't this a little unrealistic? what you're asking for is some of the key functionality but only the bits you want and hang the rest.....would you go into a car showroom and ask for a car that doesn't have an engine? or gearbox? or brakes?

I was just asking. For example foobar2000 and winamp have plug-ins/DSP's, so maybe there was one plug-in that could enable loading multitracks for playing only.

Again, those don't exist. Audacity is your best bet

plugins and dsps are completely different to front ends and functionality

maybe there's a "plugin" that'll make "windows photo gallery" allow you to change some colours and crop or remove parts of pictures?

have you actually read what you typed? f**king ridiculous in the extreme.....if you want a player....it'll play the file, if you want to edit/alter/change parts of a file you want a piece of software that has a specific function....now what can that be? i know...a fucking edit function

Its like asking if there is a version of photoshop that only has a crop facility and nothing else.
