New Rhys Thomas Freddie Documentary

It's been mentioned recently that a new Freddie documentary is in production. Rhys Thomas has confirmed that he is making this and has in fact finished it, and it's called 'Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender'.

I presume that after his work with the Queen doc, they were impressed enough to sign him up for a Freddie one, in order to have more 'in house' control of this as opposed to DoRo's 'The Untold Story' which didn't even interview Roger!

I'm lookin forward to this!

about the lack of Roger in The Untold Story; I've always wondered about that.. I can't imagine they DIDN'T ask him...

So far he's done a better job that any of the crap documentaries DoRo made.

well, it would be better than another reissue his solo collection though and it would be great

Would be great to have it released on Freddie's 66th birthday.

I hope it will include more interview of Barbara Valentin. In "The Untold Story" there were just few seconds...
And I think it's great title of the documentary.

I really hope they concentrate more on his musical output as opposed to who he socialised with, went to school with etc.... Whilst that's good stuff, it's already been covered. I wonder if there's any behind the scenes footage of Freddie in the studio working on Mr Bad Guy or Barcelona, or some extra stuff like the Bob Harris footage of Freddie in the studio with Queen which we haven't seen yet.

Rhys Thomas has said that he flew out to speak to Mack, so it seems promising that those closest to Freddie in his music making will be probed in new interviews.

It was a different time. DoRo made some real nice stuff if you ask me.

I just hope it won't be accompanied by a new Greatest Hits of Freddie's "hits".

And the new documentary will contain much new and unseen footage.
