hmmmm.
That's a pitty.
Queen+EJ would be interesting. Queen + AL not so.
Are you sure? Did you you see EJ at the jubilee concert? I wasn't that impressed with his voice.......AL would be a better bet than EJ imo!
Yaaaawn....
Elton is recovering from his respiratory infection.
That's why he sounded the way he did.
Elton + Freddie were friends and respected eachother. Freddie performed with Elton on one of his concerts. The Queen + EJ performance in Paris 1997 was nice. Much better than all I've seen from Adam Lambert. If there's one person, apart from George Michael, who could do the job and would have made Freddie smile in a positive way, it's Elton.

I think we all need to re-read the press release.

It doesn't say Queen + Elton John.

It says Elton John ...

and..

Queen.

As in ... it's two different acts.

Yeah...totally misleading.

With that said what song or songs did Freddie Mercury do live with Elton again?

At the Freddie Tribute - Bo Rhap and The Show Must Go On, then at the ballet, just the latter.

Elton also did TSMGO on his own tour in approx 92/93 as he liked the song so much.

Whilst I'm not a huge fan of his, I'd like to seer him when his voice is in top form doing some of the piano based stuff such as Killer Queen, Play The Game, Save Me etc... Where he can play and sing as Freddie did.

I think you're referring to when Mercury joined him at a show in 1982?

"I think we all need to re-read the press release."

I won't speak for the other posters, but my assumption is that they don't actually think Queen and Elton are doing anything together - it's just that as soon as an artist is mentioned on Queenzone, there is an obligatory few posts where people like to discuss how they'd sound with Queen. *shrug* That's how it appeared to me.

Thank god Elton is not singing with Queen his voice is shot.I hate Queen and Elton's version of TSMGO on Hits 3.

I have to really disagree with you there philip, it is FAR from shot! You want shot, here you go...some classic '86 examples of Elton at his absolute worst vocally:

It's not that his voice is shot (I mean on that particular recording) - it's just a total mismatch, musically. Lowering the song that much really robs it of any impact.

I have to admit though that I've mentally conflated the GH3 version with the '92 one. I prefer the earlier one - it just sounds like there's more of an effort going on.

But on the plus side, the drum sound on the GH3 version is fucking lovely!! :-)
