Providing an argument for a statement does not always mean you are arguing.
In this case I was simply asking you why you hold the opinion about me that you posted. Providing an argument in this case is the same as giving a reason for your opinion.
Maybe I agree with your opinion or maybe I don't. If I don't agree and start to provide counter argument then we are arguing. Until that time we are not.
