I used to shop at Queencollector.com to get the best bootlegs available. Now it seems the site is shut down. I wonder if it was the victim of the success of downloads.

Same problem here, looks like it's been down for quite a while now. Despite some of the bad posts I've seen about this site this used to be the only way years ago to get some nice boots with good quality artwork on sleeves and discs. I have to admit I never much listened to the concerts themselves but loved having the nice CDs in my collection. Wish I had the resources to make my own with some of the beautiful artwork Ale Solan posts here.

It sounds like Trancer (guess that was his (nick)name) has moved on :)
It was his site back in the 90's that inspired me to create queenpicturehall.com... gosh those were the days.

I will always miss that site. Loved all those japanese sleeves scans and that 90's HTML based style.

The site remained the same way it used to be in the 90's until its end. I used to be a regular visitor since 1997.

During the late 90's Queen Collector, along with Queen Heaven, Queen Picture Hall and Andy Young's sites where the ultimate source of info for the Queen fans.

I still hope this is just a technical glitch and that it gets back on track soon.

Really? We wanna support a website owned by someone who illegally sells copies of bootlegs he took freely in the first place (eg. Queenzone, HUB...), occasionally rips off other collectors AND also is known to be the reason why certain bootleggers & collectors don't want to share their wares in the first place?

Brilliant. I really fail to understand the logic here...

Have I spoken about bootlegging? NO.

Have I spoken about picture sleeves & source of information? YES.

Have I spoken about bootlegging? NO.

You didn't, but at the same time his website has (or had) a sale section, "Sheer Boot Attack", which as I pointed out included items for sale sourced from bootlegs posted freely online or from collectors he ripped off. This really does not sit well with a number of people here.

Have I spoken about picture sleeves & source of information? YES.

Certainly, I'll give you that, his site probably WAS one of the top sites back in the late 90's/early 00's for detailed info on various worldwide releases, but by today's standards it falls well rather behind, and Trancer's inability to bring the website's style up to date doesn't help.
There are other Queen fan sites that do a much better job at detailing the catalogue and rarities, with much improved images and organization at that.
You can still navigate the archived site :-)
I do not want any google ads here.

But his rip off bootlegs came with nice pictures! Don't you get it?!

Queenliveca and Sebastian's website are the best overall sites for your Queen information!

Definitely. If only we could have QueenPictureHall back for the images and catalogue...

A few years ago I had the intention to create a downloadable package of QueenPicHall, but I lost interest in that project in the end. I have all pages and files so who knows, maybe one day I will pick it up again and complete it.
