I don't quite understand the reason for which the Queen had left John Reid

Because John Reid's other client was Elton John and I think he put pressure on John to spend more time working with him rather than Queen. so the gys felt they were not getting Johns full attention.

According to last year's documentary extras, they amicably parted ways. They signed a three year contract, and by 1978 the three years were up.

... and according to contemporary Fan Club Magazine info section, John Reid left because he wanted to focus on Rocket Records so he quit managing people in general.

If you would work via a job agency,
and had the opportunity to take them out of the equation...
That would be a lot better for you financially.

They did indeed have a three year deal with John Read.
The reason for signing with Read was to have a high profile manager who could get them free of Tridents Sheffield brothers and straighten out the bussiness end of things. It was never intended as a long term relationship.
The two other managers in the running at the time were Don Arden and Peter Grant. For while Peter Grant was favored by the band, however he felt because his time was split between Led Zeppelin and Bad Company he couldn't commit to Queen.
Long term the band planned to take over control of their bussiness arangments.

Although I've never actually met the man, I am told that he is actually my gran's cousin! Always thought it was cool that a member of my own family, albeit distant, was once manager of my absolute idols. And that goes for EJ as well :)

Now, now... I don't hate the movie but calling it a documentary is a stretch!
Oh, wait a minute... what year is it, again?

I think Brian talked about it when he appeared on Richard Wakeman's programme.
