when Brian, Rodger and John all...."hit the hay"? I imagine his father is telling him "Keep our hits alive son. And find some new bandmates to cover for us".
Maybe Queen's music could actually live forever. Passed down from the generations of the founding members children.

Could very well be, especially when you remember that Queen is a company, and somebody has to inherit those shares when the current members die... I suppose it's marginally better than just selling it off to the highest bidder. :/

I think that if Roger decides to make a Queen Extravaganza UK with local musicians, he's already got his drummer. ;-)

If he can also sing well, it would be perfect.

I think the whole business of band member's kids taking over is a joke.
a band is selection of indivuduals who have a certain chemistry, which is not automatically passed on through genes.

I can`t think of anything more embarrassing then that.

Gene Simmons has openly said he'd like to see Kiss carry on as a franchise after he stops playing. My personal opinion is that this should not happen here though - the name Queen should not be used for any band after Bri and Rog stop playing. However, there's no reason why Rufus, or anyone else, shouldn't carry on playing the songs in order to keep the music alive, which essentially is what the QE is all about anyway. With the QE and WWRY musical and film, QPL are well ahead of a lot of iconic bands in ways of ensuring their legacy remains strong long after they've gone.

I think Rufus Taylor should carry it on. It would seem that Marc Martell would be great to join officially at some point as well!!!!

They should grow their own replacements, in a lab.
Since we can... and Brian IS a Doctor.

Well Johns son Michael was in a band called Baker, remember seeing them in the late 90s supporting the SAS Band with a certain John Deacon playing 3 songs

Almost totally agree with you. If there was some hypothetical band where the offspring were introduced over the years and were an actual part of the musical entity - it'd make sense.
You simply can't have it 'hey son, take over when I'm too fucking useless to play anymore'. That's not the same band.

No, we will never have Queen back, ever. No way, isn't happening. It will always be a cover band or tribute band no matter who plays or sings. Even Brian and Roger plus AL or PR or whoever, isn't Queen to me. I accept that they kept the name, but I just think of it as Brian May and Roger Taylor + whoever.
