It seems that the budapest gig will be released on cinemas in september of this year.

According to the articles it says that there will be 25 minutes of extra footage never seen before. I hope that this time they release the whole concert and not cut as it was before.

It has been discussed already, and it seems like we're going to see the old cut version.

25 minutes of extra footage are nothing short than a documentary on Queen being in Budapest.

When are we going to get a DVD of Queen in the Seventies? These Eighties shows are pretty much all the same . . . and they've been done to death.

Same here. I think they should release Rainbow 1974 next after Budapest.

Would you believe me if I told you I don't have a decent copy of Budapest and I don't even remember seeing the full show ever?

I have THREE different bootlegs from various years. One Beta videocassette from Stelaris Video (Mexico) from 1992 called "Queen En Vivo", one PAL DVD I bought in a trip to Hungary back in 2005 (could only see it in my PC) and finally one DVD I got a few weeks ago that was just released, kinda like those Brazilian DVDs of Greatest Flix and Live in Japan that you can find out there (Laserdisc sourced perhaps?). You wouldn't believe HOW BAD IS THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO. It even said "Remastered" on the cover but it looked like shit, probably even badly encoded, like a very crappy YouTube video. I was hoping of a Laserdisc rip but this looked worse than my old Betamax copy from 20 years ago.

Because of what I just posted, I am actually excited about this release. Too bad it seems it won't be the full show but as long as it looks and sounds great, I'm up for it.

Rainbow and Hammersmith can wait... two months, tops. ;)

Not an outstanding performance by the band, but it makes sense considering, alongside Montreal '81, it was one of the only two shows that were properly filmed for release. Any new live release is good anyway in my opinion, so I can't complain. Interesting though that there's been a ton of official announcements all at once, and this wasn't among them (at least so far).

Anyone know if "worldwide" means this be in North American cinemas too? (The WWRY World Arena Tour excludes North America, that's why I'm asking...)

Well bummer. I'm in Canada. I do travel to the US a lot though so maybe the release will coincide with one of my trips.
