Can anyone help with the origin of this please?

Remember hearing it on a radio station approximately 6 years ago and thought it was interesting.

His vocal over Lennon's piano sounds a bit off. I don't know anything about keys and whatnot but I didn't think they blended well note-wise. Apart from that not bad, I don't know anything about it's origin though.
