It's FUCKING SIMPLE, Brian ... put out one GH DVD (one to rule them all). Make it a Blu-Ray or something. Get all of the videos, and this time get them all in the right fucking aspect ratio instead of letting some toddler squash them and say it's 16:9. Every video up to Innuendo. Throw in No One But You as the finisher.

Don't really care what the special features are, as we've seen most of the behind the scenes video we're probably ever going to.

Skip all of the Q+ crap. Couldn't be any fucking simpler. Any production team worth a $5 back alley handjob could knock this DVD together in the time it takes Brian to eat his fucking cornflakes. DVD authoring is not rocket science, trust me.

Get the fuck on it already! There is absolutely no excuse not to - not a single one!

another ridiculus release...

This is a great release! It's very smart too! The reason being that "Greatest Video Hits II" did not sell very well in the U.S. and I would bet around the world as well. At least in comparison to "Greatest Video Hits I". This will allow more people to be exposed to more of the short films that they have not seen in the past. Question is are there any bonus features? Remember something can always be put out of print and have something new and different released many years down the road.

As far as the Queen + short films I bet that they are waiting to do new and exciting things that will be better than perhaps some in years past. That's really exciting as well. At that point they can release another compilation of some sort containing more Queen short promotional films.

Wow. Not only is it the same thing, but it doesn't even have the old extras like Liar and KYA.
Any way the wind blows...

I'm sorry, but this is a crap release.

Well, it's yet another re-release under the new label. Not terrible but it could be seen as a lost opportunity.
They could have included the Innuendo and Made in Heaven Videos in another disc and make it the full collection. Just the videos, no new extras. They could even say that the new disc is a "Video EP" and not a full 2hr+ DVD. It worked for the "Bonus EP"s in the Island 2011 re-releases, didn't it?

I don't plan to purchase this as I didn't purchase GVH1 or GHV2 in the past but in fairness to the record label (I work for one) it is an economical release aimed at casual fans. These days with all the music piracy and filesharing of official releases I completely understand the need to milk what you have dry. This IS a business.
Personally, music videos are pointless to me unless they are live or something beyond a mimed performance ("Radio Ga Ga" is a good video for example) by the band so though I agree with the angst from longtime fans I have to say the "Barcelona" reissue with orchestra is "gift" to longtime fans so maybe wait and see what comes next before we get too angry about this? Releasing a GHV3 would probably be as sloppy as the "Greatest Hits 3" cd anyway. Besides you could burn your own GHV3 as it's all out there for the taking.

so if it goes back to GVH1 and 2, that means most of it is 16:9 with some cases a lot of video noise?

Bands re-release their back catalogs to make money. Get over it, folks.

Better releases are on their way. Patience.

Well at the very least, it could be seen as a reboot to continue the GVH releases... So that ie. GVH 3 coming out next april wouldn't seem out of place... Also, they probably figured that with more Queen fans out there, now with all the promotional shit flying all over the place - newer fans may want to buy these...

At this point, all the core fans have the original GVH 1 & 2 with the bonus material - most of the newbees aren't warmed up to caring for it anyways... so there's no reason to re-release the double disc version of both sets...

It's a cash cow directed at new fans - that have jumped on the Queen bandwagon in the last 3-5 years.

I don't think it was a bad release. But I do see it as a necessary one. And I also believe they will release GVH3 within a year to capitalize on the inflow of what's coming next... Budapest, Barcelona, Great Pretender Blu Ray, etc...

Simple quentions that the press release doesn't clarify and you refused to answer GT, so let's try again:

Are the DTS Surround Sound mixes exactly the same from GVH1 and GVH2 in 4.1? No work has been done to remix them into a BRAND NEW Surround Mix?

The videos are in the original Aspect Ratio, or are exactly the same cropped sh*t from the first DVD release?

That's not to hard to answer this, is it?

You really believe that Queen Productions would spent time and money to convert these videos back to their original aspect ratio, when they already have DVD's which they can just copy?

You DO understand that this is just normal protocol when they switch record labels? The new label has to re-release everything so it's all under they're label, as opposed to EMI. Note the fact that hardly any promotion will be done for it, as in previous releases in the US, and Island/Hollywood will be wasting their time and efforts. Just my opinion...

You're right, it is just your opinion.

The new label doesn't HAVE to re-release everything unless they are contractually obligated to, ie. the BAND has wanted to re-release everything as a part of signing on.

The only way Island is going to actually make money with the music videos is by releasing a compilation which can be sold to all the people around the world who bought the previous GVH's.
