In the 'Collectors Corner' of the new Queen Fan Club magazine (which credits you as the 'expert') it stated that Hollywood Records released three 'waves' of radio samples with the new remaster material on.
Is this true?? Did Island/Universal pay all that money for the back catalogue and then let the old record label issue some of it as promos??

That's right, Queen are still on the Hollywood Label in the USA so had the right to release the same remasters on their own CD's.
The 3 radio samplers include much of the bonus material that were on these CD's as well as highlighted tracks from each album.
