Question about live shows

I seem to recall hearing that the band were once joined on stage by a sporting team, though I don't remember which, when or where at all. Anybody able to help out?

No, it's not that. I'm thinking it was the Yankees or something at MSG, but I don't think that ever happened.. Something like that though

Hmmm. Well, in December of 77 at the Garden Fred came onstage wearing the New York Yankees jacket and cap being that the Yanks won the world series in October. And then we had Soccer great Maradonna (sp) show up in South America in '81. Other than that I personally can't think of any team that showed up.

You are probably thinking of this at MSG on 17 November 1978. Between 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions', Freddie dedicates the two anthems to the New York Yankees, as they had just won the World Series of baseball. On the same night semi-naked girls on bicycles join the band onstage for Fat Bottomed Girls.

Yeah... I think I must've just made some weird mental image of an actual team joining them on stage from all of that. Thanks guys :)
