I read the piece, and there's no mention of Freddie's vocals being used, just the 'de-oh' vocal improvisation with the crowd?
Seeing as most of the crowd on the day at Live Aid weren't Queen fans yet still knew what to do under Freddie's guidance, I'm pretty sure that those in the stadium tonight will be clued up enough to follow when the likelihood is that they've seen numerous times what is one of the most iconic moments in musical history.
