I saw them twice prior to 1980 when they were a group of artists creating innovative music. That was before they became a business, more concerned about delivering a product.

If you're talking about Marc Martel, plenty of QZ posters don't like him either. The difference is that the people who DO like MM don't go around trying to convince the detractors that they're wrong and need to change their minds. In return, the detractors mostly tolerate and/or ignore the discussions about MM.

I actually checked out one of the big Adam Lambert fansites a little while ago to see what they were saying about the concerts and Queen fans. It was really... illuminating. I love the theory being floated around that the reason die-hard Queen fans supposedly love MM and hate AL is because MM is not as good a singer as Freddie and is therefore nonthreatening, whereas AL is a better singer than Freddie and Queen fans don't want face that obvious truth so instead they hate on AL. Good one!

I feel my plea will be so corny, me trying to explain to you something that you're fully aware of. Fan sites are strange places, at least for a newbie like me. QZ, for example, seems to be populated by those who can compare, versions of the same song sung in I don't remember what year or venue, the moment Brian began his solo.... .I prefer to be "mean" in the other category, that of "free" discussions. It is more fun. I forgot, mostly men. A. Lambert's forums, mostly women either prefer to chat about his life , love life...or about music/his music. Neither Queen fans nor Adam fans are pros, the chats are based on personal taste , preferences or...frustration.
Many of Adam's fans(including me) think that the bigots in charge with the show-biz are more preoccupied with him being gay than him being a good singer. The consequence? Exaggerations.

speaks volumes about this latest "collabroation"...almost as much as the lack of ticket sales - and subsequent cancellation of Sonisphere....amazing how that's been forgotten so quickly
